RC Notes:
Along the Way was written at the end of 2008 on the heels of major life turmoil. It was originally an instrumental. Then one spring-like day in January of 2009, after a walk along some trails and some prayer, the lyrics flowed. This was a profoundly personal pivot point for me. My prayer is that it can be a blessing to others.

In September 2011 Scott and I started playing this song but it was missing something....

Then Scott wrote an instrumental that we named Positive Steps. This eventually morphed into an organic intro to Along the Way so here is the piece as we play it today.

Spring in winter
Dust to diamonds
The birds around me sing

Times are tough and you’ve had enough of
Everything you see

You need some rest and peace
So get down on your knees

Take a breath and count your blessings
Find hope along the way

Catch a sunrise
Catch a sunset
Feel the gentle breeze

Smell the flowers
Watch the lizards
Listen for the King

Take a walk away
Listen as you pray

It’s in His timing
Your silver lining
Is up along the way

Purge the leaven
Can’t take it to heaven
Go naked as you came

Losing obsessions and finding the blessings
Heaven here on earth

Forgive the ones you hate
In this you can’t be late

Reach to heaven cry seventy seven
And praise Him for His grace
