RC Notes:
The lyrics for this song were written in 2009. It was originally called Strategic Wanderings and was a completely different song musically.
As this album took shape I realized that the lyrics belonged on the album but the music....no way! I set out to write new music to fit these lyrics into this album and handed it off to Scott through the internet. He came up with the beautiful accent textures that complete the song.
It is a reflective song really... in a nutshell what I am saying is that when I think I am lost aimlessly wandering, hindsight comes along and reminds me that God has a bigger strategy for my life and even as I make decisions that are less than wise...it still somehow fits into the master plan, the tapestry that only God can weave.
The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
lyrics
The strategy of my wanderings
Lies in the palm of your hand
The tapestry of your weaving
Lies beyond my sight
A drive along the freeway
Yields emotional flow
A rush like a rainbow
As I navigate the trail of tears
A perch among the rooftops
A breeze through the trees’ hair
Breath of life keeps me wondering
And wandering through a life prepared
The strategy of my wanderings
Lies in the palm of your hand
The tapestry of your weaving
Lies beyond my sight
