As this album started to take it's proper form I realized that two songs I had written in 2009 belonged on this album. They were in fact supposed to be bookends to another album that never happened. This was becoming that album.
Those songs are Beyond My Sight and Home. For the storyline of this album Beyond My Sight needed to be the first lyrics but it is too slow to be an opener. Home was to close the album lyrically.
Now, I have always played around with an instrumental version of Home and that song has evolved quite a bit since it's beginnings. So we figured, this is a concept album, why not do the recurring theme thing?
Hence, Almost Home. We thought this would be a good instrumental introduction for the concept and musically. We really have worked on Home for a bit and trying to get this instrumental version right is actually a different animal.
