The strategy of my wanderings Lies in the palm of your hand The tapestry of your weaving Lies beyond my sight A drive along the freeway Yields emotional flow A rush like a rainbow As I navigate the trail of tears A perch among the rooftops A breeze through the trees’ hair Breath of life keeps me wondering And wandering through a life prepared The strategy of my wanderings Lies in the palm of your hand The tapestry of your weaving Lies beyond my sight

The poet and the rogue listen Waiting for the cue They hear the minstrels song callin They know just what to do The prayers of the saints rise up Even those who groan Father hear us now have mercy The cry of those who know Cuz It’s all just a lie This crazy world It’s all just a lie The minstrel brings us words of wisdom He praises Father God He speaks in notes and tones of glory Some find him rather odd And he says – It’s all just a lie This crazy world Don’t believe the lie He marvels at the way they mock him When he tries to bring the truth Blessed indeed are those who hear him Only just a few And when there’s no one left who’ll listen Away to the woods he goes To die To fly Cuz It’s all just a lie This crazy world It’s all just a lie The poet and the rogue listen

Along the Way Spring in winter Dust to diamonds The birds around me sing Times are tough and you’ve had enough of Everything you see You need some rest and peace So get down on your knees Take a breath and count your blessings Find hope along the way Catch a sunrise Catch a sunset Feel the gentle breeze Smell the flowers Watch the lizards Listen for the King Take a walk away Listen as you pray It’s in His timing Your silver lining Is up along the way Purge the leaven Can’t take it to heaven Go naked as you came Losing obsessions and finding the blessings Heaven here on earth Forgive the ones you hate In this you can’t be late Reach to heaven cry seventy seven And praise Him for His grace Spring in winter Dust to diamonds The birds around me sing

Tuck my heart away Cuz I don’t wanna cry I see many things Growing into troubled times But then I look away To spring-like clarity My King remindin me That I am in His hand Sometimes it’s hard to pray With this overwhelming weight Seems like forever For a while But then I look away To spring-like clarity My King remindin me That I am in His hand ~ Guitar break ~ The deeper in I go The more I wish I didn’t know Simple faith gets Hard to find Love don’t wear a smile Everyday I wear it on my sleeve The burden I taste But then I look away To spring-like clarity My King remindin me That I am in His hand

Home 07:33
Home – is it where I lay my head? Or where my head is at? Is it just a state of mind? Can I find it here in time? Is it really far away? Or right here in my face? As I come to terms with I And leave behind my strife And the crawl becomes a climb And joy replaces cryin – I’m home Home I’m home Home – is where my Father lives And in my heart he gives Peace for all my pain He covers up my shame Cause Jesus took the blame And sent me on my way As I come to terms with I And leave behind my strife And the crawl becomes a climb And joy replaces cryin – I’m home Home I’m home Home – is a breath of springtime air It doesn’t matter what or where It’s a smile upon my face It’s blessings and it’s grace It’s my corner of the sky It’s learning how to fly From the depths of my soul I know you won’t let go You relieve my fear of flyin Erased regrets of old Now joy replaces cryin – And I’m home Home I’m home

about

Ponder the Road is a concept album. It is the soundtrack to a journey
~

Sometimes in a fleeting moment I sense I am Almost Home,
but then the moment fades and it is Beyond My Sight.
The weight of the world presses in and then, again,
I hear the sound of a Rainbird singing its song in spite of the rain…
that little bird is a Lion Tamer.
It is a mysterious sound that only few can hear; in fact not many even try to listen.
The Poet and The Rogue listen and they hear as they take
Positive Steps towards the truth despite the landscape of lies.
They don’t linger too long or stagnate,
they grow Along the Way.
As They Ponder the Road they are on,
they discover a Spring-like Clarity
and The Calm that comes with it.
This peace that passes understanding is in fact,
Home.

~

We are two guys who grew up appreciating concept albums, album art, lyrics and liner notes. In today's digital age some of that gets lost. Our hope is that you will find time to just relax with this album start to finish. The liner notes and lyrics are provided in a PDF if you download the album. It is not the same feel as kicking back on the couch with a 12 inch LP and it's liner notes but it is the best we can do.

This is an organic, mellow album.
It has themes of seeking shelter, hope, truth, trust and peace in the face of a bitter world.

The music and words on this album are about this journey to find peace in spite of....whatever it is that would rob you of your peace.

A different version of "Ponder the Road" was originally hastily released before "Now is Gone" which was a compilation of what we had done in the first 6 months of our playing together.

When we compiled "Now is Gone", a lot of what was on the original demo of "Ponder the Road" was included.

This got us thinking that we wanted to re-create Ponder to be a distinctly different album than NIG. We knew that we could add to it and drop a few of the tunes that went on NIG and re-create this album to poetically tell the story of the road that we ponder. This is what we have done.

We are proud to present the new "Ponder the Road" several months later; just over a year after our first jam session. This is a completely different album. It does include three of the songs that are on "Now is Gone" because they belong in the storyline of this album.

"The Poet & The Rogue" is not the same recording, in fact it has an organic instrumental intro that set's it up with a different vibe than the NIG version. "Spring-like Clarity" and "The Calm" are the only two recordings that, while they are different mixes, they are the same recording
as the last album but again, they have a purpose and shine
differently in this context.

There are 5 songs that are new and the balance of the album
is made up of new recordings of songs that were on the original.

This album feature a bit more multi- tracking than Now is Gone
But there is still plenty of that captured live feel to it.
In fact even most of the tracked parts are tracked live.

We have really worked on this album and we love it.

We hope it provides a soundtrack for you to ponder your own road.

For now , the CD's are only available through personal contact. If you have the original demo version CD with all different content, please shelf it and contact us at the email address below for a free replacement.
