Whatever happened to the nuance? Whatever happened to the pure in heart? Whatever happened to natural flow? Whatever happened to our soul? I aint really angry Not so much as I am sad Just a little boy cryin in the dark Still tryin to find my place Chorus: Oh, I wanna go where I can breathe Where peace and love take the lead Brothers and sisters livin free God and man in harmony Sometimes it burns sometimes it bleeds Sometimes I just can’t breathe Just a little more hope cuz I can’t see This heart is on its knees I'm caught between two worlds And I swear it’s killin me Ain’t got the right shoes for this tightrope waltz Trippin right to my knees Chorus: Oh, I wanna go where I can breathe Where peace and love take the lead Brothers and sisters livin free God and man in harmony Whatever happened to the nuance? Whatever happened to the pure in heart? Whatever happened to natural flow? Whatever happened to my soul?

That Tree 05:41
I Wish I could sing to you a lullaby I wish I could tell you it's all right I wish I could find the simple faith of a babe I wish I hadn't eaten from that tree I'm overwhelmed by the urgency and then I just have to breathe can't catch the words that I need to speak just have to say what I see Chorus: Here we are many miles down the road still livin lies we been sold like a walkin bird don't know that he can fly still eatin from the tree - that's why Father warned liar lied didn't take long to decide and still today we play the game we think we're free in these chains Chorus: Here we are many miles down the road still livin lies we been sold like a walkin bird don't know that he can fly still eatin from the tree - that's why I Wish I could sing to you a lullaby I wish I could tell you it's all right I wish I could find the simple faith of a babe I wish I hadn't eaten from that tree

Suffocate 06:55
Can’t find a love song – in the absence of light Can’t find a straight line – in the midst of the night Like a coyote howl I hear a sound------- And all I been livin – dissipates All I been searchin – appears and fades All I been building - crumbles down All I been breathin – suffocates Can’t find a green light – the rainbow is closed Welcome to hard times – truth has been sold the deepest charade I hear a sound------- And all I been livin – dissipates All I been searchin – appears and fades All I been building - crumbles down All I been breathin – suffocates INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE Good bye blue sky - tic tac and toe White out the skyline - and all that’s below Believe what you breathe I hear a sound-------- And all I been livin – dissipates All I been searchin – appears and fades All I been building - crumbles down All I been breathin – suffocates

The shades of grey are fadin with the world upon your back the consequence of waiting there's no turnin back When the Spirit calls you out - like the wind without a sound to the heart of all that's true - now it's up to you I'm losin your religion I aint wavin that flag I got a premonition and I aint turnin back And the Spirit calls you now - like the wind without a sound to the heart of all that's true - now it's up to you ~ should I sing - the pretty songs of praise while swimming in - our spiritual malaise or take my cue from to the prophets of the age - with a tainted god all the worlds a stage just close your eyes and pick a prize Am I a cop out - or are you a sell out you are what you breathe am I a cop out - or are you a sell out how long till we see? and the choir sings - oh, he’s fallen down as the coyotes breathe - that chilling sound and somewhere in between - defiled and pristine I hold my breathe and take a step

The dime-store philosopher has found his way We’ve been to the other side and back again And now we see beyond the dreams of yesterday And hope for dreams of tomorrow in the youth of today When we were fools - we ruled this riverside We thought that we could fly all day Twenty somethin wisdom and a Pocketful of shadows and a Map of the world that we drew up CHORUS As far as we could see - as far as we could dream we could dream When we were fools - we couldn't fly too high Reachin for the other side of what Bulletproof will and a Lust for life and a An attitude that said it all CHORUS As far as we could see - as far as we could dream we could dream ~~~ When we were fools – skatin on fractured ice Livin under pretty lies all day Knew nothing bout reality But all we knew was all we need Aint no one gonna rain on our parade CHORUS As far as we could see - as far as we could dream we could dream BRIDGE The dime-store philosopher has found his way We’ve been to the other side and back again And now we see beyond the dreams of yesterday And hope for dreams of tomorrow in the youth of today Twenty somethin wisdom and a Pocketful of shadows and a Map of the world that we drew up

about

The concept of being between two worlds is something we all feel from time to time and I have never experienced the feeling in so many ways at one time like I have in the days surrounding the writing and recording of this album.

From personal issues to the broadest overview of this world system vs. God's way....little worlds and big worlds that we find ourselves caught between...each pulling at us, stretching us....

...And these all break down to their own worlds within worlds.....

The tensions I have experienced in these tugs of war are reflected in this album. I believe addressing these things through music converts the energy and makes things easier to process. I hope it translates this way to those who hear it. It's like being overwhelmed and unable to find a starting point to begin thinking through things and suddenly gaining a wider view from above...somewhat removed from the situation for a few moments to gain clarity and carry on navigating our way, between two worlds.

The songs on this album were composed while busking outside Stater Brothers and Seven Eleven in Yorba Linda, California.

These songs have profound life experiences behind them and carry a specific message; however my prayer as always is that they are written with enough ambiguity for you to climb into them in your own way with plenty of room for interpretation and application to your own life experience.

The album carries a couple of lyrical threads throughout with the instrumentals in between allowing time to digest and ponder the lyrics. The titles of the instrumentals have their part in the message as well.

I suspect you will pick up different things, lyrically and musically with each listen. The album is thoughtfully arranged and intended for listening from start to finish.
